Fingers , God given fingers ,
five fingers on each hands , ten fingers
on two hands , few long and few short ,
each named , named by different names.

Listen to the fingers playing on the strings
of the Guitar , music emanating ones soul ,
touching one’s heart .

Listen to the fingers playing on the Piano ,
tip of the fingers touching the keys ,
music flowing from ten fingers , taking listener into another world

Listen to the fingers playing the Drums ,
beats flowing slow and heavy , loud and not so loud , pumping like heart beats .

Fingers , can become a surgical knife , a butcher’s knife , inter lock with loved ones ,
one’s heart offering prayers , ten fingers
strong or nimble , gentle or harsh , as commanded.

Creator , my creator , i , un fold my palms , fingers holding together , for giving me these fingers , to offer my prayers to you .
